New Charter High School Providing Tools Needed for Career in Aviation and Aerospace

Founder of the Alabama Aerospace and Aviation Industry Ruben Morris said the recent approval to launch the school is pivotal. The school was denied the chance to launch in the Birmingham City School System twice and now will cater mostly to students of Bessemer. Morris said the approval represents not only a lot to him but a lot to the many people that have supported the school’s launch in the community.
Alabama Public Charter School Commission Approves Aviation-Focused Charter School
Tuesday, August 31, 2021AN AVIATION-FOCUSED CHARTER SCHOOL HAS RECEIVED APPROVAL FROM THE ALABAMA PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL COMMISSION AFTER BEING DENIED APPROVAL FROM THE BIRMINGHAM BOARD OF EDUCATION SEVEN MONTHS AGO.
The Alabama Aerospace and Aviation High School (AAHS) now plans to open its school in Bessemer.
THE ALABAMA PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL COMMISSION APPROVED PLANS FOR THE ALABAMA AEROSPACE AND AVIATION HIGH SCHOOL TO OPEN IN THE FALL OF 2022 IN BESSEMER.
School officials said the public charter school will offer an immersive, industry-aligned education designed to prepare students for future aerospace and aviation careers.
